Tour of Duty

The Indian Army is considering a proposal to attract young working professionals to join the force for a three-year tenure as officers and in other ranks for a variety of roles. The 'Tour of Duty (ToD) for three years is being mulled in the wake of "resurgence of nationalism and patriotism" in the country.  The proposal is stated to be an attempt to tap the feeling of the youths who do not want to join the Army as a profession but wish to experience military life for a temporary duration. The "game-changing" proposal is being examined by top commanders of the Army.  "If approved it will be a voluntary engagement and there will be no dilution in selection criteria. Initially, 100 officers and 1,000 men are being considered for recruitment as part of test-bedding of the project," Spokesperson of the Army Col Aman Anand was quoted as saying by the PTI. Currently, the Army recruits young people under short service commission for an initial tenure of 10 yea...

A Dream of Clean Energy at ITER

A Dream of Clean Energy       SAINT-PAUL-LEZ-DURANCE, France — At a dusty construction site here amid the limestone ridges of Provence, workers scurry around immense slabs of concrete arranged in a ring like a modern-day Stonehenge. It looks like the beginnings of a large commercial power plant, but it is not. The project, called ITER, is an enormous, and enormously complex and costly, physics experiment. But if it succeeds, it could determine the power plants of the future and make an invaluable contribution to reducing planet-warming emissions. ITER, short for International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (and pronounced EAT-er), is being built to test a long-held dream: that nuclear fusion, the atomic reaction that takes place in the sun and in hydrogen bombs, can be controlled to generate power. First discussed in 1985 at a United States-Soviet Union summit, the multinational effort, in which th...

World’s Cheapest Ventilator and Smallest Ventilator ,AgVa Healthcare Ventilator ,Made in India

A  ventilator     is a machine that provides  mechanical ventilation  by moving breathable air into and out of the lungs, to deliver breaths to a patient who is physically unable to breathe, or breathing insufficiently. Modern ventilators are  computerized   microprocessor controlled  machines, but patients can also be ventilated with a simple, hand-operated  bag valve mask . Ventilators are chiefly used in  intensive care medicine ,  home care , and  emergency medicine  (as standalone units) and in  anesthesiology  (as a component of an  anesthesia machine ). How it works A machine learning algorithm understands the patient’s inhale-exhale pattern and controls air pressure and flow rate to the patient as per the best settings: 1. A pressure sensor monitors the relative pressure of the patient’s air passage over 1000 times a minute 2. The pressure reading is then sent to a computing unit...
